SALTARE VITAM

Indeed, in vertical dance, the bodies change plane. Its very fundamental principle therefore calls for a change of perspective. For the dancer, the landmarks are jostled, the gravity is different, the bodies seem light but are dense, powerful inside, to be able to extract themselves from the cliff, to draw shapes. The dancing individual is fully returned to his presence, to his habitation of the body. He becomes aware of his place in space, of the forces that act there and affect him. The air becomes an essential partner, a support, and the mineral rock resonates with the minerality of the body, where it melts and sometimes allows itself to be absorbed. To the viewer, there appears to be a reversal of relationships, where the bodies are perceptibly acted upon by their environment. The increased awareness of the dancers to their movements is perceptible and tenses the space like a great listener, a great breath. The rhythm is that of danced space, slowed down by gravity dispersing differently than on the ground in the bodies. Air, rock and bodies dialogue perceptibly, in complicity with gravity – and water, invisible present in all these elements. The bodies are part of the landscape, are landscape, and the human/nature barriers seem to no longer have any course or meaning.
